This Friday’s #BlackGirlMagic feature is rightfully going to Danai Gurira.


She is doing incredible work of authentically telling the stories of African women and is unapologetic in her bold voice and creativity! She is an actress on The Walking Dead and has recently written a play Eclipse, (It grapples with the experience of five different women in the war zone of Liberia in 2003, three women who have been abducted at different stages of their lives and become the forced “bush wives” — quote, unquote — sex slaves to a commanding officer. pbs.org)

      isn’t she?!?! i didn’t watch walking dead so i had never heard of her but this play is going to be LIFE!

    Danai is the reason I watch Walking Dead! I’m a true fan! I would love to see this play, Eclipse!
